i’m apparently mildly retarded

Monday night I attended my first K201 class. K201 is titled something like Computers in Business, and mostly focuses on how to use Excel and Access. I already know how to use Excel pretty well, and I am looking forward to learning Access, but I knew going in that this should be an easy A. My hope is that every class is not as boring as Monday’s, but they probably will be.

I had to sit and listen for I don’t know how long about how to use a web browser. Now, I know that there might have been one or two people in there who might not be completely comfortable with using a web browser, but shouldn’t they be in some sort of remedial computer class, or maybe out in the hall playing with a Speak ‘n Spell? On the plus side of things, I was the first one done with our “internet scavenger hunt” assignment and got to leave about two hours before the class was scheduled to end. I wonder what sort of brain busters I’ll get to try tonight.

Spider-Man 2 opens up today, and I’m hoping I’ll get the chance to go see that sometime this week or this weekend. It’s been getting really good reviews and is supposed to be a lot better than the first one. I liked the original alright, but preferred the first half of the movie when he was just becoming Spider-Man; after he fully embraced the character and had the nice outfit, it got pretty cheesey.

I finally got a chance to rent Need For Speed: Underground yesterday. I had heard all about what a great game it was, but hadn’t ever been able to find it at Blockbuster, but I took it home last night and copied it to the HD. It seems like a really sweet game; you start off with just a regular car, and have to win races and use your winnings to upgrade both performance parts and visual parts. I played long enough last night to unlock an Impreza, so I’ve got my Subie all tricked out. Rock on.

I woke up this morning before the alarm clock ever went off to the sound of Luigi pawing at the blinds in the bedroom window. Noisy little punk — he’s lucky he didn’t get a pillow or something thrown at him.

be glad you aren’t in my group

I am such a slack-ass that I often amaze myself. In 7 1/2; hrs, I have a 9-page group project due for my business class, for which it is my responsibility to write the first three pages. I have yet to start on this project, despite the fact that this portion of the project is worth roughly 25% of our total grade for the class. And now that I have a little free time at work to get it done, I’m posting something about it on here instead of writing the paper. It’ll get done, though — mark my words. I also have a test tonight in this class that I have yet to study for. I rule.

…aaaaand we’re done…

Project Xbox-Mod is finally complete. Well, from a hardware standpoint. The new hard drive is installed and working perfectly. The system boots the way it should with the modchip on or off, and I can still play online on Xbox Live. Sweetness. Now we start getting into software — specifically, renting a crapload of games and copying them to my new, big-ass hard drive, and also getting some emulators installed and downloading some ROMs so I can play old NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, and arcade games on my Xbox. Awesome stuff, eh?

I’m hoping the only packing I end up doing in the next 2-3 days involves getting Jessica’s stuff out of her house.
