amateur is right
21 07 2004As I mentioned a day or so ago on here, last night my buddy Chris was going to try his hand at amateur night at a local comedy club. Well, we found out last night that before they let you go on stage, you have to go the week before and just watch for one night, then submit a sort of application to get up there, so instead of watching him, we just watched a bunch of really bad comedians.
The guy who was hosting the show for the club seemed like he was just pulled out of the crowd, and was one of the least funny people all night, which is saying quite a bit. There were a few people that had one or two laugh-out-loud jokes, but by and large everyone was terrible, which makes me very confident that Chris is going to go up there and knock ‘em dead.
Oh, and dinner at the club last night? We ordered a personal pizza, chicken nachos, a Corona, and a Coke and it was $19.50.
I’ve got a “practical” exam in K201 tonight; basically we work on these simulated Excel files and have to do what the computer tells us to do. I hate taking these things because there are about three ways to do everything in Excel and the computer doesn’t recognize all of them, so if I try and use a shortcut key, it’s very possible I’ll lose points for not using the menu system. It’s pretty jank (thanks for that term, Mike), but there’s not really anything I can do about it, so I’ll just have to try to remember to not do things the fast way..
