I just came across a pretty cool set of pictures from artist Michael Paulus in which he draws the skeletal systems for 22 current and former cartoon or comic strip characters. Pretty interesting stuff. Here are a couple examples, and the rest of the gallery can be found here.

Hello Kitty

Powerpuff Girls - Bubbles

I also found this series of pictures by Matt Siber where he takes pictures of roadside signs, such as those for McDonald’s or a gas station, and Photoshops the support poles out of them so they appear to just be floating. I just think they look neat. There’s a sample below, and the rest of the gallery is on his site.

McDonald's and BP

By the way, any pictures I’ve had on the site recently that haven’t used the Exhibit plugin (with the thumbnails at the bottom of the post) have been hosted by ImageShack. If you guys need free image hosting, I highly recommend them.

I just turned the TV on to NBC to watch Jeopardy, although it doesn’t come on for about ten more minutes. I think I just saw some of the worst Wheel of Fortune players EVER.

This lady gets to start the round with the category of “song lyrics.” She keeps going and going and going, even when it’s obvious what the answer is. I assumed she was just trying to get more money. I assumed wrong. She finally had the board almost completely filled in, until it looked like this:

HOW _ _ _ H
IS THAT
DOGGIE IN
THE WINDOW?

She spins again.

“R!”

I started laughing my ass off. How sad. Unfortunately, that was not the only sign of poor contestants.

For the very next puzzle, the category was “living thing” and though I did not see who guessed what, I came back into the living room during the lightning round or whatever they call it where everyone gets to guess a letter, then has to guess the word. When I came in, the board looked like this:

AUSTRALIAN
SHE_ER_

The guy on the left is up to bat. He guessed the wrong letter. BZZ!

Next up, in the middle, is the same lady who botched the first puzzle. She guesses the wrong letter. BZZ!

These two stare at the board, very obviously dumbfounded. I probably had the same look on my face staring at these two. I mean seriously, how do you get on the show in the first place if you can’t get those right? At least it was amusing.

it’s not delivery, it’s digiorno

In keeping with yesterday’s theme, here’s another less-than-pleasant picture. I was looking in my work fridge this afternoon (no idea why, I had nothing in there and I knew it) and I saw a green plastic container sitting on the bottom shelf. I recognized it as something I have used several times to bring food into work, but had no idea when the last time I used it was. I opened it up and upon seeing the contents, vaguely remembered using it a few months ago. Here’s Mozzi’s newest combo: Chicken Fajita & Penicillin pizza. Mmmmm…..
