another quickie
16 12 2004I just turned the TV on to NBC to watch Jeopardy, although it doesn’t come on for about ten more minutes. I think I just saw some of the worst Wheel of Fortune players EVER.
This lady gets to start the round with the category of “song lyrics.” She keeps going and going and going, even when it’s obvious what the answer is. I assumed she was just trying to get more money. I assumed wrong. She finally had the board almost completely filled in, until it looked like this:
HOW _ _ _ H
IS THAT
DOGGIE IN
THE WINDOW?
She spins again.
“R!”
I started laughing my ass off. How sad. Unfortunately, that was not the only sign of poor contestants.
For the very next puzzle, the category was “living thing” and though I did not see who guessed what, I came back into the living room during the lightning round or whatever they call it where everyone gets to guess a letter, then has to guess the word. When I came in, the board looked like this:
AUSTRALIAN
SHE_ER_
The guy on the left is up to bat. He guessed the wrong letter. BZZ!
Next up, in the middle, is the same lady who botched the first puzzle. She guesses the wrong letter. BZZ!
These two stare at the board, very obviously dumbfounded. I probably had the same look on my face staring at these two. I mean seriously, how do you get on the show in the first place if you can’t get those right? At least it was amusing.

Maybe wheel of fortune is having a rough year and can’t afford to give money away, so they are letting dumb people play
Or maybe they are trying to break out of old roles and into the comedy genre.
Whats the answer to the first one?:???:
You’re the second person who didn’t know that. Maybe it’s not as easy as I thought.
I think I need to get on Wheel of Fortune and hopefully; make mine!! That could be a new career move; finding easy game shows to play on! (Screw going to school!)
Happy Festivus, Chris. I’m glad I’m not the only one who observes that important, yet alarmingly under-recognized, holiday.
I agree those puzzles were way too easy, although I’m sure if I ended up on Wheel of Fortune, I’d make an ass of myself too. My brain would be blank…or should I say I’d have a brain fart? Or as Amy would put it, no ideas would be pooping into my head.
Courtney you found a way to make me laugh out loud by myself:lol: sitting here alone — so to keep myself from feeling stupid - I had to call Courtney and let her laugh with me — Ah now I only feel stupid for being the first person to have to ask Chris to tell me what the answers were to his above comments about stupid people not knowing the answers —
