things to do in akron when you’re hungry
21 02 2005I saw this video clip last night of a guy in Akron, OH waiting in line at a pizza place. He’s on his cell phone with his girlfriend, a woman cuts in front of him, and he made some sort of remark that she didn’t like. She gets her massive boyfriend to come in and… well, just watch the video. This is just messed up.

What we didn’t see was that, outside, the guy on the cell phone touched their radio.
That just got the couple started. Things really started to escalate and her temper flared when she was denied watermelon as a topping on her pizza.
That is just plain horrible!
If you watch the video, I think Cell Phone guy held his temper and maintained his composure very well — even with crazy bitch in his face.
I dont think I could have done that.
No matter what someone said, I dont think it warranted the beating he got.

I honestly don’t know what I’d do if a person got “all up in mah grill” like that for no apparent reason. I’d like to think I’d be the bigger man and just walk away, but this guy did the right thing, kept his composure, and got his ass kicked for his trouble.
I couldn’t understand why everyone just stood around and didn’t help him. I guess it’s human nature to circle and watch a fight, but one that was unprovoked seems odd not to intervene. I guess I would be hesitant to try to stop a 320lb flailing man as well though.

@Brad: I don’t know, given the circumstances I can see why no one would have done anything. This huge guy comes in and starts wailing on this other guy for no reason. It’s just so bizarre, some of them had to have just been in shock or something. I’d like to think I would have done something, or at least tried to rally the other people in there to help me out in stopping the guy.
There is this thing that I cannot remember but I learned about it in a Psych class at the University of Minnesota. Basically, there was this girl in a park that was raped and killed. Everyone in the surrounding apartment buildings witnessed this but no one called for help. The reason: everyone thought someone else would do it.
I am sure if one guy jumped in to help the guy out the rest would have followed. But hey, look at the images, those guys aren’t exactly bouncers at the Viper Room themselves. That black dude looks like he could give Brock Lesner a run for his money.
I am in total shock, but if I was there, I would totally jump in. And if the big black guy wants to hit the little white girl and go to jail for it, so be it. The more people he hits, the tougher the sentence. I say, bring it on you stupid goon.
Yes, but I think we’ve already determined that when it comes to one’s sense of self-preservation, you’re crazier than most.
