fretting
25 05 2005In my neverending quest to make myself more appealing to members of the fairer sex, I signed up for guitar lessons and got started on them last night. Some of you may recall that I started lessons a couple years ago, but my instructor was weird and not very helpful, so I only went like twice and then never went back, and my guitar (which was a birthday gift from my dad about 5 yrs ago) continued to sit unused.
My new instructor is named Roger and has been teaching guitar for 35 yrs, and I can tell after one lesson that he’s going to be much better than the last guy I went to. This is something I would like to get good at (assuming I enjoy it) so hopefully I stick with it (I think I probably will — I didn’t think I’d stick with the blog, but that’s been going for over a year now).
It’s way too early for me to start taking requests, but if you want to hear the little guitar line that repeats in Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman” I’d be more than happy to play that for you, although we might have to call it “Pretty Slow Woman” as I’m not too quick yet.
Rock on, kids! *throwing up double horns*
