aka “freedom toast”

8 12 2005

I woke up Sunday morning wanting French toast pretty badly. I’d never made French toast before, so as I am known to do from time to time, I got on the internet. I found a simple recipe within a minute or so, and set to work making my early morning treat.

I don’t know what I did, but it was pretty awful French toast. I think there was too much milk in it (even though I followed the recipe) because it was really, really soggy in the middle. I choked a bit of it down and just got rid of the rest and had some Cheddar Jack Cheez-Its instead. Very disappointing.

So, readers, how the hell do I make good French toast? Submit your recipes and any other tips in the comment area below so that everyone can benefit.

mmm...

EDIT: By the way, I forgot to mention I brought this up because of the snow that’s incoming tonight. It seems like anytime there is a decent amount of snow coming, people go ga-ga over French toast. Don’t believe me? Look at what they’re buying when people rush to the store: milk, bread, eggs. Throw some syrup in there and that’s a breakfast.
