8 09 2006This post isn’t really untitled, I just named it same as the MP3 that I’ve been listening to over and over here at work for the past three days. It’s a piano piece by Carly Comando, and you can hear it on her Myspace page; you can also download the MP3 there to put on your iPod or other MP3 player of choice. If any of you know of other music I can get that sounds like this (instrumental only), please please please let me know about it. I seriously can’t stop listening to this song. Also, there is no need to mention Philip Glass.
I’ve started trying to get into running a little bit in the past few weeks, and tomorrow morning I’m running my first ever 5K at the IU Mini Marathon. I’m curious to see what kind of time I’ll have, but my only goal to run to the whole thing without having to slow to a walk at any point. A few weeks ago I could barely run a mile without doing that, but I’ve done a couple three mile runs in the past week or so, so I’m confident I’ll be able to get it done. I ultimately would like to be able to do a half marathon (13.1 miles) but it’s going to be a long while before I’m to that point. Wish me luck. Oh, and btw, 5K = 3.10685596 miles (thanks, Google Calculator).
The job search still hasn’t really started, aside from looking in the Sunday paper. However, I had to pee in a cup this morning, and found myself being thankful that I don’t handle urine for a living.
I don’t have any “just” piano instrumental in my music collection. But have a CD from a band called the Glasnots (glassnotes) and they play on glass ummm…..vessels, of all types. You know how you run your finger around the edge of a glass and it makes sound. Most of it’s instrumental and there is acoustic guitar too. I didn’t see any free MP3’s anywhere, but I could email some. They play a local renaissance festival and I bought a they’re CD. Probably not what you’re looking for.
Congrats on your fabulous time! 27:59, you will be running a full marathon in no time. I’m not sure I will be able to compete with you much longer.
Running sucks (no offense camel or little 1).
I’m sure it would suck less if I were in good physical shape and didn’t smoke. Whatever.

The music is great! Don’t really know who to suggest for more music like this…there’s a ton of lovely piano music to be found. I have a lot of CDs that are compilations of numerous people.
Great time on your race! Kudos!!! It’s great excercise and I miss running and doing the 5K’s that I used to do. Perhaps one day when I feel inspired I’ll start again. Please, someone, give me some inspiration….
